Who needs to be screened?

Consider these three recommendations for screening:

  1. Age - Guidelines generally recommend colon cancer screenings begin at age 50
  2. Ethnicity - Experts now recommend that African-Americans begin screening at age 45
  3. Family History - Patients with relatives who have had polyps or colorectal cancer should be screened 10 years prior to the youngest family incidence.
