Family history matters

A recent study in the journal Cancer, shows that an individual with a family history of precancerous polyps are also at an increased risk of developing cancer, and those with a first-degree relative who has colon cancer has 2-3 times the risk of developing the disease. Anyone with a family history of cancer or polyps should be screened 10 years prior to the youngest case.
