Give Your Colon Some Help With Better Eating Habits
You know that feeling you get when you’ve eaten too much, or
too quickly? It goes away as food moves out of your stomach,
but your colon continues to suffer from your bad habits.
It’s easy to make sure that your entire digestive process goes smoothly, and it all starts with your eating habits:
- First, eat a balanced diet heavy on fruits, vegetables and fiber, and light on red meat and fatty foods.
- Next, eat slowly. The digestive process begins in your mouth, so chew your food and allow the saliva to begin its work.
- Go easy on the sugar. Yeast and bacteria feast on sugar in your digestive tract, and when they grow out of control the whole process is negatively affected.
- Eat when you’re hungry. A rumbling tummy means that your body will release more digestive enzymes when you eat, helping the process to go much quicker.
Being cautious about what you put in your mouth is important. Knowing what to do with that food once it’s there is also a vital step in making sure that you’re getting the maximum benefit from your diet.
